Abstract

Allergic asthma is now regarded as a T cell-mediated disorder in which sensitized individuals develop eosinophilic airway inflammation in response to inhalation of aeroallergen. Especilly, CD4+ T cell, so in a number of investigations on lung
biopsies
and respiratory secretions from patients with asthma, infiltration of the airways by CD4+ T cells and eosinophils is a central feature of the inflammatory process, which often correlates with disease severity. CD4+ T cells in BALF of rat were
increased
when they were sensitized with ovalbumin, while CD8+ T cells were not. So this study investigated the effect of the treatment of Socheongryong-Tang on these lymphocytes.
The results are as follows:
1. Total cells in BALF of rat were increased when sensitized with ovalbumin, while decreased when treated with Socheongryong-Tang.
2. Lymphocytes in BALF of rat were increased when sensitized with ovalbumin, while decreased when treated with Socheongryong-Tang.
3. CD4+ T cells in BALF of rat were increased when sensitized with ovalbumin, while decreased when sensitized with ovalbumin, while decreased when treated with Socheongryong-Tang.
4. CD4+/CD8+ ration in BALF of rat was increased when sensitized with ovalbumin, while decreased when treated with Socheongryong-Tang.
These results suggest that Socheongryong-Tang inhibits allergen-induced CD4+ T cells BALF of rat which means that Socheongryong-Tang has a lot of potentiality treat the allergic asthma.
